How do i remove a member from an LLC in california where we had no operating agreement? my partner wants out?

I filed everything with the state and i am the Manager he is a member. He wants out and there are not any issues with him leaving, the company never did any buisness transactions and he never put any money into the LLC. So what do i have to do to file this with the state?
