Has any biker out there experienced an ally valve cap becoming immovable through corroding to the tyre valve?

I had the bitter experience of needing to remove the entire wheel and tyre, to replace the valve. This despite two hefty guys using grip-wrenches trying to unscrew the cap. It seems very odd that makers can sell ally caps which will cause such immense trouble.
