Air Force DEP How Long Do We Have to wait?

My husband is actually at MEPS right now, and he has his list of jobs with him. Before he left he was told by his recruiter that all the Linguist jobs had been fillled for the year. He only has a couple jobs on his list and really wants a linguist job or Air Traffic control, How long should we expect to wait? He did score really high on the ASVAB by the way he got a 95 in all categories, will this help speed up the process? Also Can we take someones spot if they drop out of a linguist or air trafffic control job?
