Need help. What happened in 2006?

I have to make an ornament for a Christmas tree at my work. The ornament has to based on the theme that everyone makes a ornament related to the year they were hired. For example, someone made an ornament with Michael Jackson's picture because she was hired in 2004 when Michael was going through his law issues. I need something for 2006. Any ideas. I can't remember what happened in the U.S.
